It is ok to store the laptop in a vertical / horizontal or any position when not in use.
It is also ok to actually use the laptop on any side while it is working.
As long as the air vents are not getting blocked and there is nothing sticking out..
Is it safe to transport a desktop computer?
The good news here is that now that your desktop computer is safely packed up the hard part is over. … Unlike with flat screen TVs, you don’t have to worry about positioning your computer monitor so it’s upright. If you need to lay it down flat to make it fit, you should be just fine.
Can I put my PC on wood?
But yes, you most definitely can build a PC on a wood desk, plastic desk, and many other things. I wouldn’t utilize an aluminum/metal top table unless you had something non-conductive to put between the computer hardware and the top of desk. But I personally tend to build right on top of my wood desk with zero problem.
Are wooden PC cases safe?
Wood does shield against EMI, in fact it protects better than aluminum and metal that rly do little or no shielding at all, wood is a better material to build a case to protect from EMI.

You should have it preferably on the desk. Its all about the airflow. Computers need space to breathe or else they will overheat and die. Placing a computer under the desk will promoting the sucking in of air (and with it dust), with no space to expel it.

Yes it can. Actually it can be placed in any configuration that your case supports. Most cases are vertical or horizontal. Some more exotic cases even mount the motherboard and cpu at angles.

Yes you’ll be fine. Even without a antistatic wristband, you can discharge static by touching the PC case once in a while. If you do want to be completely safe, you can have like wood or cardboard to step on so you are not in contact with the carpet as you build your PC.
Can I lay my HP tower on its side?
You certainly can. If you want to lay it on it’s side, be sure that airflow is still available to keep your computer running cool.
Can you put monitor on top of PC case?
If you gently place the monitor on the case, while looking at it closely. If the case starts to bend at all, then no, if the case is solid and doesn’t bend, then yes it’ll be fine. Also no, if it covers air vents. It won’t affect anything with computer signals, if that’s your concern.
Can I lay my Dell tower on its side?
Because vertical tower computers take cold air from the floor and eject it as it rises, laying these computers on their sides may restrict the airflow. If you do decide to lay a desktop computer on its side, at the very least make sure that no vents or fan openings are covered.
